Easterhouse Open Day

The open day at Easterhouse Sports Centre on Saturday 14th October was a huge success - thanks to everyone who came along to support both the club and the centre.

SMMA was there to celebrate and support the opening. Not only has our Glasgow East branch moved into the newly-refurbished Sports Centre (which means we can add new classes to our Glasgow East timetable), Steven has played a pivotal part in the regeneration of the building. It’s run as part of the council-funded Easterhouse Henosis Group, a community-focussed project which is part of the People Make Glasgow Communities programme to bring an assortment of activities to the local area.

We ran a free Taekwondo pattern seminar in the morning, followed by taster sessions for taekwondo and kickboxing, and a BJJ open mat. There was also loads of other activities including taster sessions in sports including badminton, pickle ball, and basketball as well as football challenges, magicians, face painting and bouncy castles.

It was a fun day with loads to do, and we were proud to be part of it!
